New paintings, hot off the easel, and some thoughts on art and life ...

I've been wanting to do this and now it's done - I made a book of paintings called "An Artist's Year in the Garden." Those of you who know me or read my blog know that I spent a year making oil paintings of flowers from my own garden. It was a way to document the garden seasons through art, but my main goal was to learn more about painting during the process. At the end of that year I needed a tangible way to mark the completion of my art project, so I wrote some thoughts on painting and gardening, picked out the best of the year's paintings, then made a book. I'm very happy to say that I now have both a print book and an ebook, both available on Blurb. The ebook is designed for a tablet and looks great on my iPad. I hope that many of you out there might enjoy it, and it's a way for me to share both my art and my garden.
