New paintings, hot off the easel, and some thoughts on art and life ...

I May Be Crazy ...

I may be crazy, but I'm going to join Leslie Saeta's September challenge, 30 in 30.  That's supposed to mean 30 paintings in 30 days, but I'm not THAT crazy, so make mine 20 in 30. That's what I'll aim for - 20 paintings in 30 days of September.

I've been working on my own painting challenge for almost a year now. I call it "An Artist's Year in the Garden" and it's my project to paint flowers from my own garden for a year. The painting at the top of this post is an example. It's called "Farewell to Summer" and I painted it from the fading flowers I found in my garden on July 24. Earlier in the project I did only small works, but since May I've worked larger and posted fewer paintings. In September I'll go back to smalls. I hope to have a new burst of energy from all the artists who will be participating. Stand by - I'll post new paintings here and on Leslie Saeta's blog.
