New paintings, hot off the easel, and some thoughts on art and life ...

I made five of these small rose studies, all on black backgrounds, all called "By Night." I'm very happy with the way they turned out and I'll be using them as the starting point for a large painting with many flowers on a black background. My vision is something similar to another large painting I did, "The Midnight Garden" but I plan to mix up the colors more instead of having mostly pinks.
