New paintings, hot off the easel, and some thoughts on art and life ...

I had a panel already primed with dark paint, so I decided to try a darker-keyed color scheme. I'm not sure why I decided to put in a frog, but once I did, it was just a short mental hop to think of adding a snake. That's the kind of thing artists did in old Dutch still life paintings, so I named this one "Life in Holland."
